About Zach
I’m a frontend-focused software engineer with a non-traditional background that strongly shapes how I build software. I studied Audio Engineering Technology and spent over a decade touring in the music industry as an audio tech, monitor engineer, and stage manager—working in high-pressure, live environments where reliability, preparation, and attention to detail weren’t optional.
That experience heavily influences how I approach software today. I’m comfortable making decisions under pressure, I care deeply about building systems that are maintainable and resilient, and when something breaks, I focus on understanding the root cause and improving the system—not just applying a quick fix.
I transitioned into software development in 2020 and built a strong foundation in modern web and mobile technologies, including React, TypeScript, Node, and React Native. As an avid backpacker, I built my first solo application, Trail Pack Pro, a React Native app for managing camping gear, which helped solidify my interest in building thoughtful, user-focused products.
Professionally, I’ve worked across the stack, building React applications and backend APIs, and I enjoy operating at the intersection of frontend architecture, state management, and developer experience. I’m motivated by complex problems, clean abstractions, and building software that holds up over time—not just software that ships.
